Today was a day of firsts! First day back at school from winter break; first blog entry; and most importantly, first run of the new year!  I went 6 miles today, struggling through an agonizing 5 miles to enjoy the last one.  I averaged 7:57 pace, which I thought was respectable having come off a 2 week break.  I got the flu during my first week of Christmas break, and then decided to ski instead of run for my second week.  Hopefully I get back at it quickly and can start putting some miles in.

I ran with the team today.  I came a little late, and as such they were about halfway through the drills, toe walks, heel walks, etc.  We did standing jumps, step ups, and leg lifts, and one leg balancing.  We then went to the weight room and did arm swings, calf raises, squats, and lunges.  For our run, it was one minute on, one minute off, 10x.  We ran down to liberty for the warmup, and then back to East for the cool down.  I felt okay for it only being my second run back from break.  I get my wisdom teeth out friday, so my comeback was a short one.

Well this is embarrassing! I could only squeeze out 4 miles on my very sore legs.  Everything hurts, badly!!!! I went home and took an hour and a half nap.  I am bummed because running tomorrow is looking slim as I have a doctors appointment.  Then I am scheduled to have my wisdom teeth out Friday.  So much for running in this new year.  Oh well.  I hope I can get back at it as quickly as possible.

I'm crazy sore too. Doing 8 today was brutal. And do you know if they're gonna use the loopy gas on you when they take out your wisdom teeth?

I will be put out completely. But the surgery should only last 10 or 15 minutes, so it will be quick and painless.

oh darn! If you were gonna be drugged up, I was gonna ask to you leave me a voice mail right after you got out:)

Well the doctor's appointment looked promising.  I should be back to running by Sunday, depending on how the wisdom teeth surgery goes.  This is the most exciting news to happen in a while.  Making the best out of the worst situation.  Hopefully everything goes well and I can make a speedy recovery and get back to the sport I love.

Surgery went well!!! I feel no pain right now(knock on wood).  I should running rather quickly.  Let us hope for the best.  My dad tried to get me to call people when I woke up, but apparently I refused.  He asked if I was grumpy, I told him no(I actually was).  So sorry to those who wanted funny voicemails.  I am hoping to ski tomorrow.  The doctor said it was okay if I was feeling well.  He said a solid three days for running though.

I enjoyed your chubby chipmunk cheeks on snapchat.

Today we ran to Sugarhouse Park to do 800s. We did about three miles warmup then did 6x 800. Each 800 had a downhill and uphill component. I hit around 2:50 for every one. This was slower than I hoped, but sort of what I expected, being I haven't run much lately. I was hurting by the end of them. This was a tough introduction back into running full time. It was the longest I have run in the new year, and it is safe to say that I struggled.

Today we started with circuits for our warmup(burpees, squats, mountain climbers, jumping jacks). Then we ran down 1300 E to 2100 S, then down to 900 E, then over to Liberty park and back up. I did one lap around Liberty while everyone else did two and a half. I was extremely sore, and hurt every step of the way. I could not keep up with the fast group, so I ran by myself the whole way. While they did 9 miles, I could only get 7 out of my legs, at a very slow pace I might add. I am too embarrassed to post what my actual pace was.

Today we ran 7 miles around the U's campus.  I was still very sore so I ran quite slowly.  I finished almost with the team though.

This race was my first real try at racing since Footlocker in December.  And it sucked.  I ran faster than expected, but I now wish that I had broken 10:00.  Well maybe next time

I have not done so well on running.  I have had something after school until at least 5:30 every day after school this week.  I finally found some time today, and I ran decently well.  My times are on the upswing, and my pace is increasing noticeably.

I got a new pr in the 3200. The race went quite well. I was not lapped by Tomy. I felt good afterwards. Not too tight or sore

We did a little speed today. Just 4x800. It wasn't too difficult. I ran all by myself and managed to average around a 2:35 pace

Mile warmup. 2 mile stride @ 6:49 pace. 13:37 for the time. A couple strides then a cool down. Nothing major

This was my best mile time yet. I also ran a 2:26 for the 800. Both top times for my team and excellent for the shape I am in. I would have run the 3200 but it was scratched. I ran my first 4x400 and we did alright. I passed people and it felt good. Just a little extra speed for the day

We did an easy 6 miles at practice.  Nothing too difficult.  I didn't feel tight at all after the race and wasn't sore.  I was pleased with how I felt and how I could still maintain a good pace, under 7:50, without difficulty.
